The perfect venue for hosting a special event, celebration or marriage. Sleeps up to 10. Ideal for: honeymooners; families or friends celebrating an event
A serene and tranquil hideaway; an intimate retreat with friends; a lavish venue for entertaining: Ao Luk Luxury Pool Villa defies classification as much as the ever-changing landscape that surrounds it, and inspired its construction.
Designed by Parisian architect Patrick Maréchaux, the villa and its four guest bungalows are grand and imposing, yet completely attuned to their surroundings. Elements of stone and wood, open multi-level living spaces and a muted natural palette blend the organic and inorganic effortlessly, while the ingenious structure constantly frames nature and presents unexpected views of the breath-taking Krabi bay beyond.
The villa is furnished with tasteful objets d’art from the owner’s private collection: oriental rugs; antiques from Burma, India and China; prints and photographs from around the world, all in keeping with the modern zen feel.
The main house faces west and overlooks the twin islands (Krabi Koh Koo) after which it is named; an impressive 120sqm reception and living room is completely open to the view and serves as the central communal space. From this axis point, along the north side, runs a dining room with 10-seater table and full size chandelier, as well as a long, suspended observation deck. This is a multi-purpose space, constructed with imported New Zealand pine: it can be used for sunset cocktails, as an outdoor dining area, or even as a lantern walk for the bride at a wedding.
The south wing of the house is accessed by a beautiful wooden staircase; at the top is the library and media room, an air conditioned den with a vaulted ceiling and 360 degree windows, filled with state of the art audiovisual equipment.
Below is the master suite, with Japanese style built-in furniture designed by the architect. It features a walk-in closet and dressing room and a bathroom with twin vanity units and outdoor rain shower. The bed faces out to a magnificent view across the islands in the bay. Floor to ceiling windows can be opened in full and there is an outdoor seating area as well.
The lowest level of the house is designed purely for entertaining: a convivial deck around the pearlescent black tile swimming pool leads back to a large lounge with stage, sound equipment and giant cinema screen. Off this area can be found a dedicated spa room, as well as a function room that could be used as a venue for seminars, banquets, or meetings, or even as a gym or exercise room for those who wish to bring their own equipment.
The villa also boasts two restaurant grade kitchens, one for Thai and one for European cooking, plus staff quarters and a two car garage.
Adjacent to the Krabi villa are 4 one bedroom guest bungalows, designed with the elements of earth, fire, wind and water in mind. No steps and no columns impede the view, increasing the feeling of immersion in nature. Each has the same signature black furniture, with ample hidden storage. Behind each bed is a designer silk night light; a private rain shower is also at the disposal of guests.
Ao Luk Luxury Pool Villa offers not only an exceptional location, but exceptional possibilities: the well-designed and fantastically equipped communal space and huge grounds make it an ideal marriage venue in Krabi, or indeed a venue for any type of celebration, team building or retreat; while the luxurious bungalows allow guests to also enjoy peace and privacy.
The villa is located in the Laem Sak district of Krabi, in a small village; while there is no tourist infrastructure in the vicinity, staff at the property can arrange guided visits to the Krabi islands and other areas of interest from the pier nearby.
