We booked this villa last minute as we were due to go to Chiang Mai / Rai but the smog was bad up there. I found Ton Company on tripadvisor and called and spoke to Ching. From that moment onwards, everything was organised for us and we (6 of us) arrived 2 days later. The villa really is of superb quality. All the mod cons, lovely huge pool, comfortable beds and all the service of a 5 star hotel including local mobile phone and tuk tuk from 9am to 10pm included in the price. On 1 evening we chose to dine in and have the caterers in. What an amazing experience, 6 chefs / assistants turned up and cooked us a wonderfull Thai meal in our own home of better than restaurant quality for around £15 / €18 / $20 per head, fully served with loads left over for lunch the following day. The villa is 3km from the centre of ao Nang which is less than 10 min in either the private tuk tuk. If you return after 10pm, it's 50 baht per person with any tuk tuk on the street, try the moped taxi's - they're fun!! Just up the road within 3 minutes walk is a lovely small resort which is great for food if you don't want to cook breakfast, lunch or dinner yourself, dine in or go out. Would we return? Absolutely!! Our two families stayed at baan oriental for 12 days in dec 2011. The villa is superb - spacious, well maintained and a peaceful haven. All the amenities provided were spot on for families with teenagers. It was fantastic to have a mobile provided to enable us to contract Kree when we required transport. A special mention needs to be given to JJ who looked after us, organised trips and made recommendations. Jj was professional, enthusiastic and helpful at all times and is a real asset to your company. Having stayed at Baan Oriental several times it's reassuring to know that each trip will be as good as the last one - from the greeting by all the staff (so you get to know them right from the beginning) thru to a goodbye from them all at the end it's such a lovely place to stay. It's not on the beach but the privacy gained more than offsets that and it's only 5 minutes away by the private tuktuk so there's no problem getting to the beach/Ao Nang at any time. All the staff go out of their way to ensure that your holiday is perfect - they couldn't do any more. The villa is a bit tired but overall a lovely place. Its huge. It would have been better if it has similar private villa concept of Bali, with inhouse chef and butler service. Nevertheless, the services of Ching, the villa manager and Tif, the tuk tuk driver make up for it. They are epitome of excellent service you would expect from Thais. Our holiday in ao Nang was wonderful and service etc. in Baan Oriental was more than we thougt before our stay in ao Nang. The villa was so clean and bedrooms and living-area, pool and jaguzzi...everything so perfect for us. Location was good, because we could get a tuk-tuk to ao Nang when we want and nearby was markets and shops where we could buy groceries. We will absolutely go again in next year 2012.
